If a Tree falls in a forest.

Now that I’ve stopped drinking wine every night I wonder what makes someone an alcoholic.  Of course one friend told me if I was an alcoholic she’d have to check herself in to rehab tomorrow.  But isn’t it all perspective.  If you think you are then you are, they say.  But aren’t there indicators - - like falling down, slurring your words, or is it just having one or two every night “with dinner.”  Mostly it was making me fat.  Fat from the alcohol itself and fat from all the food it loosened me up to eat.  But then I went to Vegas and after 10 days of not drinking I suppose it was great to start again in a drunken bacchanal of beautiful liquor.  Bollinger champagne, Sancerre Chardonany, an unpronounceable Saki, and a cwazy drink of Red Bull, Espresso, and Vodka - - shooter.  It was WONDERFUL.  But not at 3 a.m.  So, which is better one drink a night for 7 nights or all 7 in one night? I don’t know but all I know is abstinence does make the heart grow fonder and the tree fell. I know I was there to hear it and drink it.  And I liked it fine.  Oh by the way, we couldn’t figure out who the porn stars were in Las Vegas! Everyone looks alike out there.

Also for all of you reading my blog - - check out my friend Karen Leone’s website - - www.goandgroove.com - - she runs fabulous trips for ladies one in the fall in Vermont, one in the Spring this year in Toronto, and a Spinning Divas ride through the Finger Lakes.  Karen knows what she is doing in hospitality having trained at the famed Cornell University.  But mostly it’s a chance to bond with your girlfriends or your daughters in great settings.  You go and groove girl!
