The Land Down Under

There was a great turn out at Ambiance for the first local talk about EDGEtm. We had about 50 people attend and the next one is on March 25th - - there are going to be a bunch of EDGEy Suburban Outlaws out there so watch out. Come again Tues March 25th - - call 586-5820 to reserve your spot.
We are leaving to go to Australia for two whole weeks. I don’t think we have ever gone on a vacation for two whole weeks - - ever. 10 days is the most. I worry about being away from my life - - my routine, my work, my babysitters! I kill myself before I go on vacations working until all hours into the night so I feel I’ve earned my trip. Since my trip is twice as long as usual I’m working twice as hard.
I used to stay up packing the night before each trip, but this time I am totally organized. I’ve even packed for the kids, and I bought all those little toiletries way ahead of time. But still, you know I’ll forget something and I’ll have to buy it at the airport for four times the normal price. Two AA batteries that will be 8.59$ please. PUHLEEZE. I told my husband I was anxious about the flight and he comforted me, “honey don’t worry if the plane crashes we will all go together.” What? I’m not worried about crashing I’m worried about being BORED! 20 hours in a plane yikes. People keep saying how are you going to survive? Survive? Xanax. My friend Meg asked me how long I was in labor when I was waffling about taking this trip. I told her 36 hours (with the first baby, the second I got smart and scheduled that c-section). Well after 36 hours in labor - 20 hours in a plane will seem like nothing. But they gave me drugs during that 36 hours! Oh, I forgot - - Xanax. It’s the miracle pill. Of course having just had the Valium drip (the one where you can’t make important decisions) you must think I’m a druggie. That’s because if you read my blog you will know I AM NO LONGER DRINKING. So at least now I’m skinny and anxious - - and skinny is all that counts right?

Pam, This is great! I can hear your voice as I read it.
I met a great 70yo lady who does motivational speaking and is writing a book. Jewish and very funny. I wonder if you would like to get to know her when you get back. I think you would enjoy the time. Let me know whenever you have time to think about it!
